One of the legends of the voice-over/voice acting profession
is
Allen Swift. After listening to some of the production done by and at Scott
Gordon Enterprises, Inc., Allen called us up and left this voice message.
We formed Scott Gordon Enterprises, Inc. in response to a singular lack
of reasonably priced, quality voice-over production facilities in the northern New Jersey
/ New York Metropolitan area. This was done in response to:
Uncle Floyd's (Floyd Vivino's) desire to produce a radio program in
homage to the Italian-American singers, comedians and personalities he remembered hearing
on the radio in his parents' and grandparents' homes;
Scott Gordon's (Uncle Floyd's "second banana" and right-hand
man) desire to produce quality audio comedy;
Both Floyd's and Scott's love of radio and the lost art of the true
"Radio Personality".
"Uncle" Floyd Vivino - much more than a client, he is
the raison d'être of Scott Gordon Enterprises, Inc. If it wasn't for Scott
and Floyd's penchant for Italian Restaurants, they would have never had the idea to put
their love of spaghetti together with the massive collection of Italian-American records
in his inherited collection.
H. S. Buehlmeier - Scott's boyhood friend
("We are closer than anyone would believe of those who are not brothers" -
Scott) and the technical expertise that makes the whole thing run. With the
scientific and analytical background he got from attending Newark College of Engineering
(now, New Jersey Institute of Technology), he single-handedly built the entire
facility in less than two months! H. S. is chief staff engineer and president of the
corporation. He has studied under the legendary Les Paul (at 13 years old, H. S.
lived within walking distance of Les' studio. He would knock on the door and say,
"Mr. Paul...do you need the floor swept or anything? I'd be glad to help
out."). H. S. has also served as part of the nominating committee for the Mix
Foundation's TEC (Technical Excellence and Creativity) Awards.
Dian Buehlmeier - the
organizational brains behind the corporation. Dian is an accomplished
dancer. Dian studies and is part of the staff of
Just Off Broadway Performing Arts
Academy in Hillsdale, New Jersey. She is, also, a Performing Psychic
(another of the five founders of the Psychic Entertainers Association),
Scott's comedy partner
and H. S.'s life partner.
The Scott Gordon Enterprises, Inc. offices and studio are located in
suburban northern New Jersey -- Bergen County to be exact. This is the area in which
we have all lived for our entire lives. Our roots are here.
Most people consider New Jersey to be an over-populated, but barren, area similar to the
scenery that exemplifies the drive between Newark Airport and the Lincoln or Holland
tunnels (that is what most people who visit the New York metropolitan area see). We
would like to make crystal clear that this is not the case. New
Jersey is one of the most beautiful, verdant places in the world.
New Jersey is more diverse than any other of the United States. There exists
all possible types of real estate types. We are the most densely populated state in
the union and still there is desert (The Pine Barrens), Ocean shore, Lake shore,
Ski areas, farmland, small villages, moderate boroughs and teeming cities. The
diversity is incredible!
